Shino_Mino's Recipe

Shino ware glazes have been produced since around AD 1600. It is a typical glaze of our Mino region in Gifu Prefecture. The recipe in our region is very simple: just Feldspar and a little Clay. White, pink and sometimes Crack depend on firing temperature, Oxidation, Reduction and thickness of the glaze. It does not try to control the finish. It relies on chance. Please enjoy the individuality of what comes out of the kiln. All raw materials are from Japan.
